OIL COOLER REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER


    1. A005RE1

      Remove the clip and engine room side cover.

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER


    1. A005SU5

      Remove the 8 clips and radiator support opening cover.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note


    • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

      After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    2. Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

    3. Remove the battery clamp.

    4. Remove the battery.

    5. Remove the battery tray.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

      Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps from the battery carrier.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the radiator pipe from the battery carrier.

    3. A00OKIS

      Remove the 4 bolts and battery carrier.

  6. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

      Remove the 4 screws and 2 bolts.

    2. A00OI9A

      Remove the 3 screws, 8 bolts and front lower bumper absorber.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Remove the 10 clips and under cover.

  8. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH


    1. Remove the 5 clips and under cover.

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

    2. Remove the reserve tank cap.

      CAUTION:

      Do not remove the reserve tank cap while the engine and radiator are still hot.

      Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

    3. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug.

      Tech Tips

      The plug is on the exhaust manifold side.

  10. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE ASSEMBLY

    *1 Oil Cooler Inlet Hose
    *2 Oil Cooler Outlet Hose
    *3 Oil Cooler
    *4 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose
    *5 Oil Cooler Tube

    1. Disconnect the 2 oil cooler inlet hoses and 2 oil cooler outlet hoses from the transaxle and oil cooler.

    2. Disconnect the 2 transmission oil cooler hoses from the oil cooler tube.

      Disconnect the 2 oil cooler inlet hoses and 2 oil cooler outlet hoses from the oil cooler inlet tube and oil cooler outlet tube.

    4. Disconnect the oil cooler inlet tube and oil cooler outlet tube from the transmission oil cooler hose assembly.

  11. REMOVE OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the No. 3 oil cooler inlet hose and No. 3 oil cooler outlet hose from the radiator and oil cooler tube.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and oil cooler tube from the radiator.

  12. REMOVE OIL COOLER

    1. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the oil cooler.

    2. A005UXT

      Remove the 3 bolts and oil cooler from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.
