SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY


    1. A010ISP

      Attach the 2 claws to connect the shift control cable and select control cable to the shift lever assembly.

    2. A010IDQ

      Connect the end of the shift control cable to the shift lever assembly and install the clip.

    3. A010GJV

      Install the shift lever assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
    4. A010LT3

      Attach the 3 wire harness clamps.

    5. Release the lock of the cable length adjustment structure of the select cable.


      1. A010H13E01

        Twist the stopper.

      2. A010LA5E01

        Pull the lock piece outward from the case to release the lock.

      *1 Select Outer Lever
      *2 Hole

      Align the hole of the select outer lever with the hole in the transmission.

    7. A010K2C

      Insert a bolt into the aligned holes to fix the select outer lever in place.

      Note

      Do not push in the bolt forcefully or damage the transaxle case.

      Tech Tips


      • Use a bolt with a diameter of 6 mm (0.236 in.) and a length of at least 16 mm (0.630 in.).

      • Depending on the bolt diameter, it may be difficult to insert the bolt. In that case, use a bolt with a diameter smaller than 6 mm (0.236 in.).

    8. A010LY1

      Connect the end of the select control cable to the shift lever assembly and install the clip.

      Note


      • Make sure the lock piece of the select control cable is facing face upward when the select control cable is connected.

      • Make sure the clip is inserted in the direction shown in the illustration.

      *2 Inhibitor Wall

      Push the slider against the inhibitor wall.

      Note


      • Do not pull up the slider.

      • When adjusting the cable, make sure that the shift lever is not in 1 or 2.

    10. Lock the cable length adjustment structure of the select cable.

        Push the lock piece into the case with the slider held against the inhibitor wall.

      2. A010LAVE01

        Return the stopper to prevent the lock from being released.

        Note


        • Push in the lock piece completely.

        • Make sure that the cable length adjustment structure is locked securely.

    11. A010JN7

      Remove the bolt to free the select outer lever.

  2. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Console Box Lid)


    1. Install the console box with the 2 screws.

    2. w/ Power Outlet Socket:


      1. Connect the connectors.

    3. Install the 4 bolts.

  3. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Console Box Lid)


    1. for Manual Transaxle:


      1. Install the console box with the 2 screws.

    2. for Automatic Transaxle and CVT:


      1. Install the console box with the 4 screws.

    3. w/ Power Outlet Socket:


      1. Connect the connectors.

    4. Install the 4 bolts.

  4. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET (w/o Console Box Lid)


    1. Install the 3 carpets.

  5. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET (w/ Console Box Lid)


    1. Install the 2 carpets.

  6. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX CUP HOLDER (w/ Console Box Lid)


    1. Install the cup holder.

  7. INSTALL REAR UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Attach the 2 claws and 6 clips to install the console panel.

    2. A00DS53

      Attach the cover to the shaft.

  8. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A00DR1Q

      Install the shift lever knob and twist it in the direction indicated by the arrow.

  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (for RHD)


    1. w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:


      1. Attach the 4 clips and 5 claws to install the panel end.

    2. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Attach the 4 clips and 5 claws to install the panel end.

  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (for LHD)

      Attach the 4 clips and 5 claws to install the panel end.

  11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH


    1. Attach the 4 clips and 5 claws to install the panel end.

  12. INSTALL NO. 3 BOX PANEL (w/ Console Box Lid)


    1. When replacing the No. 3 box panel with a new one:

    2. Attach the 6 clips to install the box panel.
