VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL MANUAL VALVE


    1. Install the manual valve to the valve body.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the spring and check ball body.

    2. A00OMFFE10

      Align the groove of the manual valve with the pin of the lever.

    3. Install the valve body with the 17 bolts.

      Torque:
      11 N*m  { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Push the valve body against the accumulator piston spring and check ball body to install it.

      • Temporarily install the bolts marked by * in the illustration first because they are positioning bolts.

      Tech Tips

      Each bolt length is indicated below.

      Bolt length
      for bolt A
      25 mm (0.984 in.)
      for bolt B
      41 mm (1.61 in.)
      for bolt C
      45 mm (1.77 in.)
  3. INSTALL VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY

    1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS.

    2. Install the O-ring to the oil strainer.

    3. A00OLFUE01

      Install the oil strainer with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      11 N*m  { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }
  4. CONNECT TRANSMISSION WIRE

    *1 Lock Plate

    1. Coat the O-ring of the ATF temperature sensor with ATF WS.

    2. Install the ATF temperature sensor with the lock plate and bolt.

      Torque:
      6.6 N*m  { 67 kgf*cm, 58 in.*lbf }
    3. Connect the 5 shift solenoid valve connectors.

  5. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the 2 magnets to the oil pan.

      Install a new gasket and the oil pan with the 18 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.8 N*m  { 80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf }
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    1. A00ON3U

      Install the under cover with the 10 clips.

  7. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

    1. Install the front lower bumper absorber with the 8 bolts and 3 screws.

    2. A00OL3A

      Install the 2 screws and 4 bolts.

  8. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

    Fluid type
    Toyota Genuine ATF WS
  9. INSPECT TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL

    Tech Tips


    • Drive the vehicle so that the engine and transaxle are at the normal operating temperature.

      Fluid temperature
      70 to 80°C (158 to 176°F)
    • The ATF temperature can be checked with the intelligent tester.

      Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / A/T Oil Temperature 1.

      Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.

    2. With the engine idling and the brake pedal depressed, move the shift lever to each position from P to L, and then return it to P.

    3. Take out the ATF dipstick and wipe it clean.

    4. Fully push the dipstick back into the pipe.

    5. Take out the dipstick and check that the fluid level is at the HOT position.

  10. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Install the radiator support opening cover with the 7 clips.
