P0503 Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If a malfunction (a rapid change in vehicle speed) in the vehicle speed signal being output from the skid control ECU is detected while the cruise control is in operation, the ECM determines there to be a momentary interruption or noise, and stores a DTC.

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)


    1. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      Vehicle stability control system DTCs are not output.

    NG
    OK
  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Perform the following to make sure the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) or more.

      2. Turn the cruise control switch on.

      3. Push the cruise control switch to -SET activate the cruise control.
