DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motor according to vehicle conditions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL Auto Leveling / Active Test.

    5. Check that the headlight leveling motors operate.

      Drive The Leveling Motor UP Leveling motor upward operation ON/OFF

      ON: Move up

      OFF: Stop

      Drive The Leveling Motor DOWN Leveling motor downward operation ON/OFF

      ON: Move down

      OFF: Stop

      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A63 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A14 or A48 headlight unit (headlight leveling motor) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A63-18 (LHT) - A14-2 (LH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A63-11 (LH+) - A14-3 (LHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A63-24 (LH-) - A14-1 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      A63-18 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A63-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A63-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      A63-17 (RHT) - A48-2 (RH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A63-10 (RH+) - A48-3 (RHIG) Always Below 1 Ω

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR)


    1. Replace the headlight unit (headlight leveling motor) with a new or a known good one Click here.

    2. Perform the active test of the leveling motors.

      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.
