LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the rear fog light relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operates.

      Rear fog light relay operates. (Rear fog light comes on.)

  2. INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY


    1. A0042U6E87

      Remove the rear fog light relay.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L105-2 - Body ground Light control switch off → tail Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      L105-5 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the R17 rear combination light assembly LH connector or the S17 rear combination light assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L105-3 - R17-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      L105-3 - S17-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      L105-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)


    1. Disconnect the 2B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L105-1 - 2B-26 Always Below 1 Ω
      2B-26 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
