UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RHD and LHD.

  • The procedure described below is for the LHD.


  1. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. When using a new upper instrument panel:


      1. Immediately before installing the upper instrument panel, twist and cut off the portions shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 5 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the 2 claws and 4 clips, and install the upper instrument panel assembly as shown in the illustration.

    4. Install the 2 bolts <B>.

    5. Install the 2 instrument panel passenger airbag assembly bolts <A>.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    6. for LHD:


      1. Install the bolt <D>.

    7. Engage the 2 clamps.

    8. Connect each connector.

  2. CONNECT NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  3. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 7 claws.

    3. Install the center instrument cluster finish panel garnish with the 2 screws <C>.

  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL END

      Engage the 2 guides and 5 claws to install the instrument cluster finish panel end as shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 2 guides and 6 claws to install the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  7. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE RH


    1. A0041Y2

      Engage the 3 claws to install the front pillar garnish corner piece RH.

  8. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Install the front No. 2 speaker assembly with the 2 bolts.

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 2 guides and 6 claws to install the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  11. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE LH


    1. A00409U

      Engage the 3 claws to install the front pillar garnish corner piece LH.

  12. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. Remove the protective cover.

      *1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip
      *2 Protective Tape

      Make sure that the front pillar garnish clip is not damaged.

      Note


      • If there is any damage, replace the garnish clip with a new one.

      • When a garnish clip is being replaced, make sure to install it in the direction shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the claw to direction indicated by the arrow (1).

    4. Engage the 3 guides to direction indicated by the arrow (2).

    5. Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nosed pliers and install it to the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the needle-nosed pliers tip before use.

      Engage the 2 clips to install the front pillar garnish LH.

  13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH


    1. w/ Airbag Cut Off Switch


      1. Connect the connector.

    2. A00418L

      Engage the guide as shown in the illustration.

    3. A004422

      Engage the guide as shown in the illustration.

    4. A0041N3

      Engage the 4 claws to install the instrument panel finish panel end RH.

  14. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

      *1 Alignment Mark (White)

      Align the alignment mark (White) on the weatherstrip with the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.

      Note

      After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

  15. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR


    1. Open the glove compartment door assembly and glove compartment door.

      Insert the glove compartment door as shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the 7 claws to install the glove compartment door.

  16. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER


    1. A00430F

      Engage the 3 claws and clip to install the No. 2 instrument panel register.

  17. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE


    1. A00426P

      Engage the 3 claws to install the No. 1 side defroster nozzle.

  18. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH


    1. A0042T4

      Engage the guide as shown in the illustration.

    2. A004343

      Engage the guide as shown in the illustration.

    3. A0041R0

      Engage the 4 claws to install the instrument panel finish panel end LH.

  19. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

      *1 Alignment Mark (Yellow)

      Align the alignment mark (Yellow) on the weatherstrip with the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  20. INSTALL NO. 1 CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL


    1. Engage the 4 claws to install the No. 1 center instrument cluster finish panel.

  21. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER

      Engage the 4 claws to install the No. 1 instrument panel register.

  22. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the clamp.

    3. Engage the 2 guides and claw to connect the hood lock control cable.

      Engage the 6 claws and clip.

    5. Install the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly with the screw <C>.

  23. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH


    1. Engage the 2 clips.

    2. Install the cowl side trim board LH with the clip.

  24. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. Engage the 10 claws to install the front door scuff plate LH.

  25. INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER WITH BRACKET (for Navigation Receiver Type)


    1. Connect each connector.

      Engage the 4 claws and temporarily install the navigation receiver with bracket as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the navigation receiver with bracket with the 4 bolts.

  26. INSTALL RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Radio and Display Type)


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 4 claws.

    3. Install the radio and display receiver assembly with bracket with the 4 bolts.

  27. INSTALL RADIO TUNER OPENING COVER WITH BRACKET (w/o Radio Receiver)

      Install the radio tuner opening cover with bracket with the 4 bolts <B>.

  28. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Radio Receiver)

      Engage the 4 claws to install the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  29. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A0040N0

      Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 3 claws to install the upper instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

  30. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 14 claws to install the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  31. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL CUP HOLDER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the instrument panel cup holder with the 4 screws <C> to the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  32. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 7 claws and 2 clips to install the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  33. INSTALL INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. A004159

      Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 6 claws to install the integration control and panel assembly.

  34. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  35. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD UPPER PLATE


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the rear No. 3 floor board upper plate.

  36. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX RH


    1. Install the deck floor box RH Click here.

    2. Install the rear No. 2 floor board.

  37. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD


    1. Install the rear No. 3 floor board.

  38. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
