B2002 Open in the seat belt motor RH circuit continues for 1 second or more.

  • Front seat outer belt assembly RH

  • Wire harness or connector (seat belt control ECU - front seat outer belt assembly RH)

  • Seat belt control ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:

The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly RH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

      Component without harness connected

      (Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly RH)

      Disconnect the S8 front seat outer belt assembly RH connector.

      Tech Tips

      Do not remove the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S8-1 - S8-2 Always Below 20 Ω

      CAUTION:

      Do not check a wrong connector.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)


    1. Disconnect the S8 front seat outer belt assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the L3 seat belt control ECU connector.

    3. Using a service wire, connect terminals 1 and 2 of the connector on the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L3-1 (MOR-) - L3-2 (MOR+) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK
