ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

The security indicator light blinks continuously due to a continuous signal received from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) while the engine immobiliser is set.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, register all the keys.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry & Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      The security indicator light turns on and off according to operation via the GTS.

  2. INSPECT CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT SIGNAL OUTPUT)


    1. Disconnect the L23 combination meter assembly.

    2. Measure the voltage and check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      L23-22 (LP) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 2 V
      L23-22 (LP) - Body ground Power switch off Pulse generation

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L23-30 (ES) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L56 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L56-2 (IND) - L23-22 (LP) Always Below 1 Ω
      L56-2 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L56-22 (LP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
