If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed, the system clears the vehicle speed stored in the power management control ECU and cancels cruise control system control of vehicle speed.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition
Cruise control indicator light blinks Open or short in stop light switch circuit Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit

  • Problem with cruise control switch cancel circuit

  • Communication stop between skid control ECU and power management control ECU

  • There is problem with electronically controlled brake system

Power switch is turned off and back to ON again.

Cruise control indicator remains illuminated

(Cruise control system control of vehicle speed is canceled)


  • Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approximately 40 km/h (25 mph)) while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

  • VSC system operates while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

Cruise control switch is pushed to +/RES
Vehicle speed is lower than stored speed by approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) or more Cruise control switch is pushed to -/SET
Cruise control indicator light goes off Malfunction in the hybrid control system Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).
