OIL PUMP REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE CHAIN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING SPROCKET

      Remove the crankshaft timing sprocket.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 CHAIN SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily tighten the crankshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley bolt.

      Using SST, remove the oil pump drive shaft sprocket nut while holding the crankshaft pulley.

    3. Remove the crankshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley bolt.

      Remove the bolt, chain tensioner plate and chain damper spring.

      Remove the oil pump drive gear, oil pump drive shaft gear and No. 2 chain sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR PLATE

      Remove the No. 1 crankshaft position sensor plate.

  5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 crankshaft timing gear keys.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG

      Remove the oil pan drain plug and gasket.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 10 bolts and 2 nuts.

    2. A0041DC

      Insert the blade of an oil pan seal cutter between the crankcase and oil pan. Cut through the sealer and remove the No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the crankcase and oil pan.

  8. REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and oil pump assembly.
