DESCRIPTION

The power management control ECU receives a signal that indicates a collision from the airbag ECU assembly to detect a collision. After detecting a collision, the power management control ECU shuts off the high voltage systems for safety.

Tech Tips

If P1606-308 or 317 is output, the vehicle cannot start unless the DTCs are cleared using the GTS.

  1. CHECK VEHICLE FOR COLLISION DAMAGE


    1. Check the vehicle condition.

      Result

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      P1606 only is output. A
      P0A1D is output. B

    5. Turn the power switch off.

  3. CHECK AIRBAG SYSTEM


    1. Troubleshoot the airbag system Click here.

  4. CHECK INFORMATION CODE


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Access the freeze frame data of DTC P1606 and read the INF code.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      INF code 308 is output. A
      INF code 317 is output. B

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.
