HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    The engine assembly with hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the repair manual, or the engine lifter may suddenly drop.

  2. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

  3. REMOVE FRONT CROSS MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt, nut and front engine mounting insulator from the front engine mounting bracket.

  4. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

      Remove the 2 bolts and front engine mounting insulator.

  5. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine mounting insulator is necessary.

      Remove the bolt, and separate the rear engine mounting insulator.

  6. REMOVE RADIATOR PIPE

      Separate the No. 3 radiator hose from the cylinder head.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator pipe.

  7. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 6 connectors and 12 wire harness clamps.

  8. REMOVE STARTER HOLE INSULATOR

      Remove the 2 bolts and starter hole insulator.

  9. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

      Remove the flywheel housing side cover.

  10. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Using wood blocks or equivalent, set an engine lifter to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Note

      Using a rope, wooden blocks or equivalent, secure the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly to the engine lifter.

      Remove the 7 bolts and hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Note

      To avoid damage to the knock pin, do not pry the connecting portion of the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly and the engine assembly.

  11. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.

  12. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE BRACKET


    1. A00440R

      Remove the bolt and motor cable bracket.

  13. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET


    1. A0040X3

      Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.

  14. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket.

  15. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH


    1. A00405O

      Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH.
