QUARTER WINDOW GLASS INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
The procedure listed below is for the RH side.
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.

INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY RH

Using a brush or sponge, apply primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body.
Note
- Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Throw away any leftover primer.
- Do not apply too much primer.
Install a new spacer No. 1 to the vehicle body.
Using a brush or sponge, apply primer G to the contact surface of a new quarter window glass.

Tech Tips

If primer is applied to an area that is specified, wipe off the primer with non-residue solvent before it dries.
Note
- Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Throw away any leftover primer.
- Do not apply too much primer.

Apply adhesive to the quarter window glass.

Adhesive
Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.

Standard

d	12.7 mm (0.500 in.)

Tech Tips

After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below.

Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.
Apply adhesive to the quarter window glass as shown in the illustration.

Install the quarter window glass to the vehicle body.

Hold the quarter window glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.
Note
- Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Check that the clips are attached to the body correctly.
- Check the clearance between the body and glass.
Lightly press the front surface of the glass to ensure a close fit.

Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.

Tech Tips

Apply adhesive onto the glass rim.

Note

Do not drive the vehicle within the time written in the table below.

INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
1. Place the roof headlining into the vehicle as shown in the illustration.
  
  Note
  
  Be careful not to damage the roof headlining when placing it.
2. Attach the 5 fasteners to install the roof headlining.
3. Install the 7 clips.
4. Connect the connectors and attach the 4 clamps.
5. Attach the 4 clamps to the front pillar.
INSTALL ROOM NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the light connector.
2. Install the room light with the 2 screws.
INSTALL ROOM NO. 1 LIGHT LENS
INSTALL ASSIST GRIP

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for all assist grips.
1. Install the assist grip with the 2 screws.
2. Attach the 4 claws to close the 2 covers.
INSTALL ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER UPPER RH

INSTALL QUARTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
INSTALL QUARTER INSIDE TRIM BOARD RH
1. Detach the 8 claws and 10 clips to install the quarter inside trim board.
2. Install the clip.
3. Connect the rear No. 2 seat outer belt floor anchor with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
4. Connect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt floor anchor with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
5. Attach the 2 claws to install the outer lap belt anchor cover.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Use the same procedure for both outer lap belt anchor covers.
INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
1. Align the claws with the seat belt positioning holes and install the retractor of the seat belt with the bolt as shown in the illustration.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
2. Connect the shoulder anchor with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
3. Close the cover cap.
CONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
1. Connect the seat belt's floor anchor with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
2. Install the belt outer anchor cover.
INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH
1. Align the claws with the seat belt positioning holes and install the retractor of the seat belt with the bolt as shown in the illustration.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
2. Connect the shoulder anchor with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
3. Close the cover cap.
CONNECT REAR NO.1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH
1. Connect the seat belt's floor anchor with the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  42 N*m { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
2. Install the belt outer anchor cover.
INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

INSTALL BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
1. Attach the 4 claws, 2 guides and 6 clips to install the back door scuff plate.
INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
1. Fully tilt the seatback forward.
2. Place the seat onto the lock striker.
  
  Note
  
  Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
3. Tighten the bolt on the rear side of the seat.
  
  Torque:
  
  37 N*m { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
4. Tighten the bolt on the front side of the seat.
  
  Torque:
  
  37 N*m { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
5. Fully lock the seat to the lock striker.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Confirm that the seat is firmly locked to the lock striker.
INSTALL REAR SEAT REAR BRACKET COVER RH
1. Attach the hook to install the bracket cover.
2. Install the screw.
3. Return the seatback to the upright position.
INSTALL REAR SEAT FRONT BRACKET COVER RH
1. Attach the hook to install the bracket cover.
2. Install the screw.
CHECK FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR
1. Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.
2. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.
