AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (for Radio and Display Type) Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the radio and display receiver assembly and steering pad switch assembly*1 or steering pad switch LH*2 illumination when the headlight dimmer switch assembly is in the tail or head position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION


    1. Check if the illumination for the radio and display receiver assembly, steering pad switch assembly, glove box or other parts (hazard switch, transmission control switch, etc.) comes on when the headlight dimmer switch is turned to the head or tail position.

      Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch assembly*1 or steering pad switch LH*2. A

      No illumination comes on (radio and display receiver assembly, hazard switch, glove box, etc.). C

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly Click here.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the R19 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the S30 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R19-23 (SWG) - S30-4 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      R19-23 (SWG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
