HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH INSPECTION

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Automatic Light Control System, for LHD)

1.

   *a	Component without harness connected (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

   Inspect the light control switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 11 (HU) - 12 (EL) OFF 10 kΩ or higher 18 (T) - 12 (EL) TAIL Below 1 Ω 18 (T) - 12 (EL) HEAD Below 1 Ω 20 (H) - 12 (EL) HEAD Below 1 Ω 19 (A) - 12 (EL) AUTO Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 17 (HF) -12 (EL) FLASH Below 1 Ω 11 (HU) - 12 (EL) FLASH Below 1 Ω 16 (HL) - 12 (EL) LO BEAM Below 1 Ω 11 (HU) - 12 (EL) HI BEAM Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

3. Inspect the turn signal switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 13 (TR) - 12 (EL) Right turn Below 1 Ω 13 (TR) - 12 (EL) Neutral 10 kΩ or higher 15 (TL) - 12 (EL) Neutral 10 kΩ or higher 15 (TL) - 12 (EL) Left turn Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

4. Inspect the fog light switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 3 (LFG) - 4 (BFG) OFF 10 kΩ or higher 3 (LFG) - 4 (BFG) ON Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Automatic Light Control System, for RHD)

   Inspect the light control switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 20 (HU) - 19 (EL) OFF 10 kΩ or higher 13 (T) - 19 (EL) TAIL Below 1 Ω 13 (T) - 19 (EL) HEAD Below 1 Ω 11 (H) - 19 (EL) HEAD Below 1 Ω 12 (A) - 19 (EL) AUTO Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 14 (HF) -19 (EL) FLASH Below 1 Ω 20 (HU) - 19 (EL) FLASH Below 1 Ω 15 (HL) - 19 (EL) LO BEAM Below 1 Ω 20 (HU) - 19 (EL) HI BEAM Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

3. Inspect the turn signal switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 16 (TR) - 19 (EL) Right turn Below 1 Ω 16 (TR) - 19 (EL) Neutral 10 kΩ or higher 18 (TL) - 19 (EL) Neutral 10 kΩ or higher 18 (TL) - 19 (EL) Left turn Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

4. Inspect the fog light switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 8 (LFG) - 7 (BFG) OFF 10 kΩ or higher 8 (LFG) - 7 (BFG) ON Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

   Inspect the light control switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (HU) - 11 (ED) Light control switch off 10 kΩ or higher 8 (HL) - 11 (ED) 13 (B1) - 10 (T1) Light control switch tail Below 1 Ω 9 (HU) - 11 (ED) Light control switch head Below 1 Ω 8 (HL) - 11 (ED)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (HU) - 11 (ED) Headlight dimmer switch hi beam Below 1 Ω

      Tech Tips

      Perform the flash and high beam inspection with the light control switch on head.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

3. Inspect the turn signal switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6 (TR) - 7 (E) Turn signal switch right turn Below 1 Ω 6 (TR) - 7 (E) Turn signal switch right lane change Below 1 Ω 6 (TR) - 7 (E) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher 5 (TL) - 7 (E) 5 (TL) - 7 (E) Turn signal switch left lane change Below 1 Ω 5 (TL) - 7 (E) Turn signal switch left turn Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

4. Inspect the fog light switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 3 (BFG) - 4 (LFG) Fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher 3 (BFG) - 4 (LFG) Front fog light switch on Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

   Inspect the light control switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (HU) - 7 (ED) Light control switch off 10 kΩ or higher 10 (HL) - 7 (ED) 5 (B1) - 8 (T1) Light control switch tail Below 1 Ω 9 (HU) - 7 (ED) Light control switch head Below 1 Ω 10 (HL) - 7 (ED)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (HU) - 7 (ED) Headlight dimmer switch hi beam Below 1 Ω

      Tech Tips

      Perform the flash and high beam inspection with the light control switch on head.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

3. Inspect the turn signal switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 13 (TR) - 11 (E) Turn signal switch right turn Below 1 Ω 13 (TR) - 11 (E) Turn signal switch right lane change Below 1 Ω 13 (TR) - 11 (E) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher 12 (TL) - 11 (E) 12 (TL) - 11 (E) Turn signal switch left lane change Below 1 Ω 12 (TL) - 11 (E) Turn signal switch left turn Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

4. Inspect the fog light switch.

   
   

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 2 (BFG) - 1 (LFG) Fog light switch off 10 kΩ or higher 2 (BFG) - 1 (LFG) Front fog light switch on Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch assembly.
