PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test Click here.

      OK
      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT UNIT - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H17 headlight leveling ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the H23*1 or H22*2 headlight leveling motor connector.


      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      for LH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H17-11 (LH+) - H23-3 (LHB1) Always Below 1 Ω
      H17-18 (LHE) - H23-2 (LHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H17-24 (LH-) - H23-1 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      H17-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H17-18 (LHE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H17-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H17-10 (RH+) - H22-3 (RHB1) Always Below 1 Ω
      H17-17 (RHE) - H22-2 (RHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H17-23 (RH-) - H22-1 (RH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      H17-10 (RH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H17-17 (RHE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the headlight unit (headlight leveling motor) with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motors.

      OK
      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.
