LIGHTING SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. CHECK TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY


    1. Disconnect the T40 relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T40-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      T40-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
      T40-4 (B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
      T40-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

      • If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the T40 relay connector.

    4. Measure the voltage of the connector.

      Standard voltage:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T40-2 (LR) - Body ground Hazard warning switch OFF Below 1 V
      T40-2 (LR) - Body ground Hazard warning switch OFF 10 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
      T40-2 (LR) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (right turn) OFF Below 1 V
      T40-2 (LR) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (right turn) ON 10 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
      T40-3 (LL) - Body ground Hazard warning switch OFF Below 1 V
      T40-3 (LL) - Body ground Hazard warning switch ON 10 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
      T40-3 (LL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (left turn) OFF Below 1 V
      T40-3 (LL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (left turn) ON 10 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
      T40-5 (EL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (left turn) OFF 10 to 14 V
      T40-5 (EL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (left turn) ON Below 1 V
      T40-6 (ER) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (right turn) OFF 10 to 14 V
      T40-4 (ER) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch (right turn) ON Below 1 V
      T40-8 (HAZ) - Body ground Hazard warning switch OFF 10 to 14 V
      T40-8 (HAZ) - Body ground Hazard warning switch ON Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, the relay may have a malfunction.
