    Tech Tips


    • The following items can be customized.

    • During customize mode, the alarm control functions are disabled.

    • During customize mode, the following wireless control functions are disabled: remote alarm function, automatic locking function, operation stop function and illuminated entry function.

    • During customize mode, the ECU will not output lock/unlock signals.

    • While in customize mode, if the key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder or a door is opened, customize mode will be canceled.

    Note


    • When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure that the function can be customized.

    • Record the current settings before customizing.

  2. CUSTOMIZE SHOCK SENSOR FUNCTION


    1. Customizing shock sensor function:


      1. Check that the following conditions are met.


        • No key is in the ignition key cylinder.

        • The theft deterrent system is in the disarmed state (when either condition below is met):


          • All the doors are in the unlocked condition and the doors are locked and unlocked using the door control transmitter assembly.

          • The key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder, the ignition switch is turned to ON then off, and then the key is removed.

        • The driver side door is opened (the other doors are closed).

      2. Perform the following operation twice within 5 seconds:


        1. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder, and then pull it out (ending with the key pulled out).

      3. Wait for 5 seconds.

      4. After completing the above step, press and hold down the lock switch and unlock switch on the door control transmitter assembly at the same time for over 3 seconds within 5 seconds.

      5. Check that the hazard warning lights flash once.

      6. After completing the lock and unlock switch operation, perform the following operation within 5 seconds.


        1. Press the lock switch on the door control transmitter assembly 4 times within 2 seconds.

      7. After completing the above step, press the unlock switch on door control transmitter assembly once within 2 seconds.

        Tech Tips

        After completing the above step, the present setting can be confirmed by pressing the unlock switch on the door control transmitter assembly once again.

      8. Check that the hazard warning lights flash 4 times.

      9. After completing the unlock switch operation, perform the following operations (mode select) within 10 seconds:


        1. Press the lock switch on door control transmitter assembly the number of times shown below depending on the desired function behavior to select the shock sensor function setting. Press the unlock switch on door lock transmitter once within 2 seconds of pressing the lock switch on door control transmitter assembly.

          Tech Tips

          If the lock switch on the door control transmitter is pressed 7 times or more, customize mode will be canceled.


          • Pattern 1

          • Shock sensor functioning: Sensor off


            1. Press the lock switch on door control transmitter assembly once.


          • Pattern 2

          • Shock sensor functioning: Max Low


            1. Press the lock switch on door control transmitter assembly twice.


          • Pattern 3

          • Shock sensor functioning: Low


            1. Press the lock switch on door control transmitter assembly 3 times.


          • Pattern 4

          • Shock sensor functioning: Standard


            1. Press the lock switch on door control transmitter assembly 4, 5 or 6 times.

      10. Check the response to the select mode.

        Response to Mode Select Operation Setting
        Hazard warning lights flash once Max Low, Low, Standard
        Hazard warning lights do not flash Sensor off

        Tech Tips

        The customization setting can be set again within 30 seconds of the hazard warning lights flashing.

      11. Check the response to the customize operation.
