FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the rearmost position.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    3. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the foremost position.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    5. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.

    6. w/ Seat belt warning, w/ occupant detection sensor:

      Disconnect the connector under the seat.

    7. Remove the seat.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and 3 clips and remove the front door scuff plate.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM LH

    1. Remove the front door opening trim.

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and 2 clips and remove the rear door scuff plate.

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

  8. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the outer lap belt anchor cover.

    2. A01J7C6

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

    3. A01J3C5E01

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.

  9. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.

    2. A01J48F

      Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

    3. A01J5P4

      Remove the bolt and retractor of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the front seat belt shoulder anchor cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat belt shoulder anchor.

      Detach the clip.

    4. Pull the center pillar garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the guide and remove the center pillar garnish.

  12. REMOVE SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE PLATE COVER

    1. Slide the shoulder belt anchorage plate cover upward and remove it from the center pillar garnish LH.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

    *a Rotate 90°

    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Rotate the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly approximately 90°, and then pull and remove the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly.
