PARKING BRAKE LEVER REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

  2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the lock nut and wire adjusting nut (labeled A).

    2. Remove the 2 bolts (labeled B) and lever (with the No. 1 parking brake cable).

    3. Bend the claw (labeled C) so that the cable can be removed.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts (labeled D).

    5. Disconnect the cable from the lever.

    6. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    7. Remove the screw and switch from the lever.
