REAR LATERAL CONTROL ROD INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL REAR LATERAL CONTROL ROD ASSEMBLY


    1. Install 2 new bushes to the control rod.

    2. Install the control rod and 2 retainers to the axle housing.

    3. Temporarily install the lateral control rod with the bolt and 2 nuts.

  2. STABILIZE SUSPENSION


    1. Lower the vehicle.

    2. Press down on the vehicle several time to stabilize the suspension.

  3. TIGHTEN REAR LATERAL CONTROL ROD ASSEMBLY

    1. Tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      96 N*m  { 979 kgf*cm, 71 ft.*lbf, for nut B }
      100 N*m  { 1,020 kgf*cm, 74 ft.*lbf, for nut A }

      Tech Tips

      While fixing the bolt labeled C in place, tighten the nut.
