REAR COIL SPRING INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.


  1. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING

    A01J56EE01

    1. Install the coil spring and insulator to the lower control arm and frame. Fit the lower end of the coil spring into the recess of the spring lower seat.

  2. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

    A01J2ZC

    1. Install 2 new bushes and the 2 retainers to the shock absorber.

    2. Temporarily install the shock absorber to the axle housing with the nut.

  3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    105 N*m  { 1,071 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf }
  4. STABILIZE SUSPENSION


    1. Lower the vehicle.

    2. Press down on the vehicle several time to stabilize the suspension.

  5. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY


    1. Tighten the bolt.

      Torque:
      82 N*m  { 816 kgf*cm, 60 ft.*lbf }
  6. CONNECT REAR BRAKE TUBE FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. Install the hose to the 3 way joint.

    2. Install the clip to the flexible hose.

    3. Connect the flexible hose to the brake line.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }
  7. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the tail exhaust pipe for 1GR-FE Click here.

    2. Install the tail exhaust pipe for 2TR-FE Click here.

  9. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR LH


    1. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.

      A01J4JS
      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Make sure there are no pieces of iron or other foreign matter attached to the sensor tip.

      • While inserting the speed sensor into the axle housing hole, do not strike or damage the sensor tip.

      • After installing the speed sensor, make sure there is no clearance or foreign matter between the sensor stay part and the axle housing.

    2. Attach the 3 clamps.

      Note

      When attaching the clamps, do not twist the wire harness.

    3. Connect the connector.

      Note


      • Securely connect the connector.

      • When connecting the connector, do not twist the wire harness.

    4. Attach the connector.

  10. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID


    1. Fill reservoir with brake fluid Click here.

  11. BLEED BRAKE LINE


    1. Bleed brake line Click here.

  12. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR


    1. Check fluid level in reservoir Click here.

  13. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
