FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedures described for the RH side and LH side.


  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. INSPECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Install the hub nuts to the disc.

    2. Using a dial indicator, measure the lower ball joint for excessive play when you push the hub nuts up and down with a force of 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbf).

      Standard joint play
      0.5 mm (0.020 in.) or less

      • If the joint play is not as specified, replace the arm sub-assembly lower.

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING

    1. Remove the nut and bolt.

      Tech Tips

      While fixing the nut in place, loosen and remove the bolt.

    2. Disconnect the shock absorber with coil spring from the lower arm.

  4. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the ball joint attachment from the steering knuckle.

    2. A01J6VOE01

      Place matchmarks on the No. 1 camber adjusting cam and vehicle frame, and No. 2 camber adjusting cam and vehicle frame.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts, No. 1 and No. 2 camber adjusting cams, 2 camber adjusting cams and lower arm.

  5. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ATTACHMENT LH


    1. A01J4LIE01

      Remove the cotter pin and nut.

    2. Using SST, remove the ball joint attachment.
