FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Temporarily install the upper arm with the bolt, 2 retainers and nut.

      Tech Tips

      Fix the nut in place and temporarily install the bolt.

    2. Install the upper arm to the steering knuckle with a nut.

      Torque:
      110 N*m  { 1,122 kgf*cm, 81 ft.*lbf }
    3. Install a new clip.

  2. CONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Connect the stabilizer link to the steering knuckle with the nut.

      Torque:
      70 N*m  { 714 kgf*cm, 52 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud in place.

  3. CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH


    1. Install the 2 bolts and connect the speed sensor wire.

      Torque:
      32 N*m  { 326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf }
  4. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

    Torque:
    105 N*m  { 1,071 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf }
  5. STABILIZE SUSPENSION


    1. Lower the vehicle.

    2. Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension.

  6. TIGHTEN FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Tighten the upper arm's bolt.

      Torque:
      115 N*m  { 1,173 kgf*cm, 85 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not tighten the nut.

  7. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
