PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Pre-Runner)


    1. A01J65JE05

      Remove SST from the extension housing.

    2. Install the propeller shaft into the extension housing.

    3. A01J7J6E01

      Temporarily install the center support bearing with the 2 plates and 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts as much as possible by hand.

    4. A01J503E02

      Align the matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

    5. Connect the propeller shaft with the 4 bolts, 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
    6. A01J4P9E02

      Unload the vehicle. The center line of the center bearing and center bearing housing (see illustration) must be adjusted to within 0 +/-1 mm (0 +/-0.0394 in.) of each other. Measure the difference along the vehicle front/rear axis.

    7. Tighten the 2 bolts of the center support bearing.

      Torque:
      36 N*m  { 367 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)


    1. A01J7E1E01

      Align the matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

    2. Connect the propeller shaft with the 4 bolts, 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
    3. A01J4VEE01

      Align the matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and transfer flange.

    4. Connect the propeller shaft with the 4 washers and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 897 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
