SECOND COAST BRAKE REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL 2ND COAST BRAKE PISTON ROD

    A01J3MBE01

    1. Check the piston rod length.

      Tech Tips

      There are 2 different standard lengths for the piston rod.

      Piston rod length
      Groove Number Length
      0 78.4 mm (3.087 in.)
      1 79.9 mm (3.146 in.)

      If the length is not as specified, replace the rod with a new one even if the brake band works normally.

    2. A01J3YJE03

      Install the washer plate, compression spring and piston to the piston rod.

    3. A01J5CQE01

      Firmly hold down the piston, then compress the compression spring.

    4. Install the E-ring.

  2. INSTALL 2ND COAST BRAKE PISTON OIL SEAL RING

    1. Coat the oil seal ring with ATF.

    2. Spread the ends of the ring to install the oil seal ring to the piston groove. Then squeeze its ends together.

      Note

      Do not expand the ring ends excessively.
