FUEL PUMP REMOVAL

Note

Do not disconnect the hoses indicated in the illustration.

  1. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle Click here.

  2. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.

    2. Press down on the fuel sender gauge claw labeled A. Then slide the fuel sender gauge upward.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUB-TANK

      Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

    2. A01J6RDE01

      Detach the 2 fuel tubes and fuel pump harness from the claws.

    3. Detach the tube from the 2 clamps.

    4. Detach the claw from the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

      Disconnect the 2 fuel tubes and fuel pump harness from the claws.

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    7. A01J6OM

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  4. REMOVE FUEL PUMP


    1. A01J6WO

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and disconnect the fuel pump.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. A01J4SI

      Disconnect the fuel pump connector and remove the fuel pump harness.

      Remove the O-ring from the fuel pump.
