DESCRIPTION

The automatic light control sensor detects ambient light, converts it into an electrical signal, and outputs it to the main body ECU. The main body ECU turns on or off the headlights and taillights according to the signal.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B1244 is not output.

    OK
    NG
  2. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR - MAIN BODY ECU)


    1. Disconnect the F53 automatic light control sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the F57 main body ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F53-3 (CLTB) - F57-20 (CLTB) Always Below 1 Ω
      F53-4 (CLTS) - F57-21 (CLTS) Always Below 1 Ω

      Reconnect the automatic light control sensor connector.

    2. Connect an oscilloscope to the automatic light control sensor connector.

    3. Check the waveform.
