Tech Tips


  • Centering bolts are used to install the door hinges to the door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.

  • The specified torque for standard bolts is shown in the standard bolt chart.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT BACK DOOR


    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas "A" to "L" are within the standard ranges.

      G 3.0 to 8.0 mm (0.118 to 0.315 in.) H 5.0 to 9.0 mm (0.197 to 0.354 in.)
      I 4.0 to 9.0 mm (0.157 to 0.354 in.) J 4.4 to 8.4 mm (0.173 to 0.331 in.)
      K 3.8 to 7.8 mm (0.150 to 0.307 in.) L 3.8 to 7.8 mm (0.150 to 0.307 in.)

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

  5. ADJUST BACK DOOR


    1. A0049M1

      Adjust the door position.


      1. Horizontally and vertically adjust the door by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

        Torque:
        19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }
    2. A0048TU

      Adjust the striker position.


      1. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting bolts and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer.

      2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, tighten the striker mounting bolts after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
