REAR DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the RH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Power Window)

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Power Window)


    1. Remove the front floor cover RH (for Front Floor Cover Type A). Click here

    2. Remove the center front floor cover (for Front Floor Cover Type B). Click here

    3. Remove the front floor cover RH (for Front Floor Cover Type B). Click here

    4. Disconnect the cable from negative battery terminal.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH

      Disengage the 2 clips and claw.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear door frame garnish.

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      *a Protective Tape

      Insert a clip remover with its shaft wrapped in protective tape between the plate and rear door trim board sub-assembly.

    2. Turn the handle with the clip remover inserted, as shown in the illustration.

    3. Remove the rear door window regulator handle assembly and clip.

    4. Remove the window regulator handle plate.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (w/ Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip, 7 claws and 3 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the rear door armrest base upper panel.

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (w/o Power Window)

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws to remove the rear door armrest base upper panel.

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and open the cover.

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 7 clips.

      *1 Rear Door Lock Remote Control Cable Assembly
      *2 Rear Door Inside Locking Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and the rear door inside locking cable assembly and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 4 guides to remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A01V1KU

      Disengage the 7 claws to remove the rear door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

      Remove the rear door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any butyl tape remaining on the door side.

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. Remove the nut and rear door window division bar sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the lower section of the rear door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01UY3TE01

      Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

      *a Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator sub-assembly may fall and cause damage.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt and the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

      Remove the 3 bolts and the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

      Note

      Do not drop or damage the rear door window regulator sub-assembly when removing the bolts.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN


    1. A01UZG1

      Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear door glass run.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS OUTER WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER


    1. A01UZMS

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

    2. A01V23V

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle cover.

  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01UY6Y

      Remove the rear door outside handle assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRONT PAD


    1. A01V1QB

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door outside handle front pad.

  22. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REAR PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle rear pad.

  23. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

    2. A01V0AS

      Disengage the grommet and 2 claws to remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY


    1. A01V12M

      Remove the 3 bolts and the rear door check assembly.

  25. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A01UZGS

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 29 clips to remove the rear door weatherstrip.

  26. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE

  27. REMOVE NO. 4 BLACK OUT TAPE (w/ No. 4 Black Out Tape)
