FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the RH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Remove the front floor cover RH (for Front Floor Cover Type A).

      Click here

    2. Remove the center front floor cover (for Front Floor Cover Type B).

      Click here

    3. Remove the front floor cover RH (for Front Floor Cover Type B).

      Click here

    4. Disconnect the cable from negative auxiliary battery terminal.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip, 8 claws and 4 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the front armrest base upper panel.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and open the cover.

      Remove the 3 screws.

      Disengage the 7 clips.

      *2 Front Door Inside Locking Cable Assembly

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable assembly and front door inside locking cable assembly to remove the front door trim board.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 4 guides to remove the front door inside handle.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP

      Disengage the 7 claws to remove the front door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW FRAME FRONT MOULDING

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the front door service hole cover.

    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    3. Connect the power window regulator switch and move the front door glass so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

    4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and the power window regulator switch.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Remove the front door glass as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass to fall.

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

      *a Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall and cause damage.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt and the front door window regulator.

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN


    1. A004EKI

      Remove the front door glass run.

  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A004GFC

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the front door rear lower frame.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A004FXL

      Remove the screw.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and front door front lower frame.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FIX WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A004F2K

      Slide the front door fix window weatherstrip, in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration, to remove it.

    2. Remove the front door fix window glass from the front door fix window weatherstrip.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (w/ Lock Cylinder)


    1. Remove the hole plug.

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover with the door lock key cylinder installed.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame assembly.

    3. A004FHS

      Disengage the claw and 2 guides to remove the front door outside handle cover from the door lock key cylinder.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (w/o Lock Cylinder)


    1. Remove the hole plug.

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame.

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle cover.

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

      Remove the front door outside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

      *a Protective Tape

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws to open the connector cover.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the front door outside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRONT PAD

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the front door outside handle front pad.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REAR PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle rear pad.

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      *a Grommet

      Disengage the grommet and 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

      Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the wire harness.

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      Disengage the grommet and 2 claws to remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD

      Remove the front door lock open rod as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and the front door check.

  30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A004FTE

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clip.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 29 clips to remove the front door weatherstrip.

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL CUSHION

      Remove the 2 front door panel cushions.

  32. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
