AIR CONDITIONING UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for Front Floor Cover Type A)

  5. REMOVE CENTER FRONT FLOOR COVER (for Front Floor Cover Type B)

    Click here

  6. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for Front Floor Cover Type B)

  7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

  9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL

    Click here

  10. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH

    Click here

  11. REMOVE INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE

    Click here

  12. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

    Click here

  13. DISCONNECT SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY B


    1. A01UZXU

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Turn the hook connector clockwise and disconnect the suction tube.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the suction tube.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent the entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  14. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A


    1. Disconnect the liquid tube.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent the entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  15. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY B

      Slide the clip and disconnect the water hose from the air conditioning unit.

  16. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the clip and disconnect the water hose from the air conditioning unit.

  17. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the wire harness.

    2. A01UY82

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the heater to register duct.

  21. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the heater to register duct.

  22. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

  23. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps, then disconnect the wire harness.

    2. A01UXNK

      Disengage the 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the defroster nozzle.

  24. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)


    1. A01V0YV

      Open the floor carpet so that the air duct can be removed and installed from the vehicle.

    2. A01UXMN

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  25. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  26. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  27. SEPARATE DRAIN COOLER HOSE


    1. A01V25D

      Separate the drain cooler hose.

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY (except Cold Area Specification Vehicles)


    1. A01V12D

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and screw, then remove the instrument panel brace.

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground wire.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and screw, then remove the instrument panel brace.

  30. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT (for Cold Area Specification Vehicles)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

  31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the clamps.

    2. Disconnect the connectors on the front side.

    3. Remove the bolt and separate the instrument panel junction block.

      Disconnect the back side connectors and remove the instrument panel junction block as shown in the illustration.

  32. SEPARATE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (for LHD)


    1. A01UYKK

      Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the connector holder.

    4. A01V13L

      Remove the screw and the connector holder.

    5. A01UXW9

      Disconnect the connectors.

    6. Remove the bolt.

    7. Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the connector holder.

    8. A01V0XU

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    9. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the instrument panel wire.

    10. Remove the bolts and disconnect the ground wire.

    11. Disconnect the connectors and clamps, then separate the instrument panel wire.

  33. SEPARATE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (for RHD)


    1. A01UYKK

      Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the connector holder.

    4. A01UXVQ

      Remove the screw and the connector holder.

    5. A01UXW9

      Disconnect the connectors.

    6. Remove the bolt.

    7. Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the connector holder.

    8. A01UYDY

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    9. Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the instrument panel wire.

    10. Remove the bolts and disconnect the ground wire.

    11. Disconnect the connectors and clamps, then separate the instrument panel wire.

  34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT


    1. Remove the 8 bolts and 3 screws, then remove the instrument panel reinforcement.

  35. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 bolts and nut, then remove the air conditioner unit.

  36. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps, then remove the air conditioning harness.

  37. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps, then remove the air conditioning harness.

  38. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the air conditioning amplifier as shown in the illustration.

  39. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01UZDD

      Remove the 3 screws and the air conditioning radiator.

  40. REMOVE COOLER AIR HOSE


    1. A01V22S

      Remove the cooler air hose.

  41. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT


    1. A01UXQP

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the air duct.

  42. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the air duct.
