SEAT HEATER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH

      Component without harness connected

      (Seat Heater Switch)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (IGL) - 6 (LH) "L" switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (IGL) - 6 (LH) "L" switch on Below 1 Ω
      4 (IGR) - 3 (RH) "R" switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (IGR) - 3 (RH) "R" switch on Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    2. Check that the seat heater switch indicator illuminates.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch and check that the seat heater switch indicator illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 5 (IGL)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (E)

        "L" switch on Illuminates

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (IGR)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (E)

        "R" switch on Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

    3. Check that the seat heater switch illuminates.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch and check that the seat heater switch illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 7 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 8 (ILL-)

        Always Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.
