PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Telltale Light Assembly)

      Check the hazard switch function.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance:
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        4 (TB) - 5 (E) Pushed Below 1 Ω
        Not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.

      (Telltale Light Assembly)

      Check that the telltale light assembly illuminates.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the telltale light assembly and check that the telltale light assembly illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 6 (DIM)

        Battery negative (-) → 5 (E)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.

      Check that the rear passenger seat belt left indicator illuminates.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the telltale light assembly and check that the rear passenger seat belt left indicator illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 8 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → 11 (RLID)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.

      Check that the rear passenger seat belt center indicator illuminates.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the telltale light assembly and check that the rear passenger seat belt center indicator illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 8 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → 9 (RCID)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.

      Check that the rear passenger seat belt right indicator illuminates.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the telltale light assembly and check that the rear passenger seat belt right indicator illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 8 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → 10 (RRID)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.

      Check that the front passenger airbag ON indicator illuminates.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the telltale light assembly and check that the front passenger airbag ON indicator illuminates.

        Battery positive (+) → 8 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (PAON)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.

      Check that the front passenger airbag OFF indicator illuminates.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the telltale light assembly and check that the front passenger airbag OFF indicator illuminates.

        Battery positive (+) → 8 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → 3 (P-AB)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly.
