KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for Front Floor Cover Type A)

  3. REMOVE CENTER FRONT FLOOR COVER (for Front Floor Cover Type B)

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for Front Floor Cover Type B)

    Click here

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER SUPPORT (w/ Entry and Start System)

  7. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      *2 Locking Button

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    4. Disengage the 6 claws to separate the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    5. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, release the locking button.

    6. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
