DESCRIPTION

The No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly RH consists of the safing sensor, the diagnostic circuit, the lateral deceleration sensor, etc.

If the airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1630/23 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly RH circuit.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK NO. 2 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly

      Interchange the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly RH with No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly LH and connect the connectors to them.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    6. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Click here.

    7. Turn the ignition switch off.

    8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    9. Check for DTCs Click here.

      DTC B1635/24 is output B
      DTC B1630/23 is output C

      Tech Tips

      DTCs other than B1630/23 and B1635/24 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    10. Turn the ignition switch off.

    11. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    12. Return the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly LH and the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.
