This DTC is output when the combination meter assembly detects a fuel sender gauge malfunction.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (FUEL METER OPERATION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

  3. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly Click here.

      1. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. INSPECT FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A-2 (FS) - B-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-3 (FE) - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the fuel suction with pump and gauge assembly.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F1 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K16 fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F1-16 (L) - K16-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      F1-16 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K16-3 (FE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly connector.

    5. Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
