DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU controls the map light assembly.

Note

Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Turn the map light assembly switch to the DOOR position.

    5. All doors closed (door courtesy light switches OFF).

    6. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    7. According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

      Main Body
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Map light assembly OFF or ON Map light switch at DOOR position and all doors closed.
      OK
      The illuminated entry system operates normally when operating it through the GTS.

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the map light assembly Click here.

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - DOME RELAY)

      Disconnect the map light assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-3 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the M1 map light assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the 3B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M1-2 (CTY) - 3B-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      M1-2 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M1-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here.

    2. Remove the main body ECU from the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
