STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Click here

  2. POSITION FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER

    Click here

  5. REMOVE STEERING PAD

    Click here

  6. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

      Remove the steering wheel assembly set nut.

    2. Put matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and the steering main shaft.

    3. Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable.

      Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

      09950-50013   ( 09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021 )

      Note

      Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tip of SST (center bolt) before use.

  8. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER

    1. Remove the 2 screws and the steering shake damper from the steering wheel assembly.

  9. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 2 screws.

      Disengage the 4 claws, 2 pins, 3 guides and remove the steering pad switch assembly.

  10. REMOVE LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the lower steering wheel boss cover.
