FRONT BRAKE REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG

    Tech Tips

    Fully tighten the front disc brake bleeder plug after bleeding any air left in the system.

  2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP

  3. INSTALL PISTON SEAL


    1. A01UZ2S

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new piston seal as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the piston seal to the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Note

      Securely install the piston seal into the groove of the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON (w/o Anti-rattle Spring)

      *2 Cylinder Boot
      A01UZL0 Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new cylinder boot as shown in the illustration.

    2. Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of the front disc brake piston as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the cylinder boot to the front disc brake piston.

    4. Install the front disc brake piston to the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Note

      Do not install the front disc brake piston forcibly in the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

  5. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT (w/o Anti-rattle Spring)

      *2 Cylinder Boot

      Install the cylinder boot into the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Note

      Securely install the cylinder boot into the groove of the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

    2. Using a screwdriver, install a new front disc brake piston set ring.

      Note


      • Securely install the front disc brake piston set ring into the groove of the cylinder boot.

      • Do not damage the cylinder boot.

  6. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON (w/ Anti-rattle Spring)

      Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the front disc brake piston.

  7. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT (w/ Anti-rattle Spring)

      *1 Cylinder Boot

      Install the front disc brake piston into the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

      Note


      • Do not forcibly install the front disc brake piston into the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

      • Securely install the cylinder boot into the groove of the front disc brake piston.
