PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX

  2. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE

    *1 Parking Brake Equalizer
    *2 Lock Nut

    1. Remove the lock nut and separate the parking brake equalizer from parking brake lever assembly.

      Note

      Do not reuse the loosened lock nut.

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

  5. REMOVE FUEL TANK COVER VENT CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      *3 No. 3 Parking Brake Cable Assembly

      Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer

    2. Remove cable clamp A from the body.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts.

    4. Remove the cable clamp B.

      Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable end from the rear disc brake cylinder operation lever.

    6. Using needle-nose pliers, disengage the claw of the casing cap and remove the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
