PROCEDURE
REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE
REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
Remove the nut, 2 bolts and the front No. 1 floor heat insulator from the body.
REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
Move the shift lever to N.
Disconnect the cable end from the shift lever assembly.

Rotate the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° in the direction shown in the illustration, and while holding the nut, separate the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever plate.
Note
Rotating the nut too much will damage the internal spring, and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable. Do not turn the nut too far.

Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control shaft lever.
Note
To prevent damage to the transmission control cable assembly and the shift lever assembly, disconnect the shift lever side of the transmission control cable assembly before disconnecting the transaxle side.
Remove the clip and separate the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control cable bracket.
Separate the transmission control cable assembly from the No. 1 transmission control cable clamp and the No. 2 transmission control cable clamp.
Remove the 4 nuts and the transmission control cable assembly from the body.
REMOVE NO. 3 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE CLAMP
Tech Tips
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 3 transmission control cable clamp is necessary.
Remove the nut and the No. 3 transmission control cable clamp from the body.
