  • If "RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY" and "BEAM AXIS LEARNING" are not performed, all of the systems using the pre-crash safety city sensor may be affected.

  • When the pre-crash safety city sensor has been replaced, or removed and reinstalled, "RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY" and "BEAM AXIS LEARNING" must be performed.

  • When vehicle toe-in adjustment has been performed, "RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY" and "BEAM AXIS LEARNING" must be performed.

  • When replacing the wind shield glass with the pre-crash safety city sensor installed, make sure to replace it with a genuine wind shield glass made for the pre-crash safety city sensor. Windshield glass assemblies other than genuine windshield glass assemblies made for the pre-crash safety city sensor do not have a camera installation bracket. Therefore, the pre-crash safety city sensor cannot be installed. If the camera is mounted on a wind shield glass that is not a genuine wind shield glass made for the pre-crash safety city sensor, none of the systems using the pre-crash safety city sensor may operate properly because of the opacity of the window glass and the shape of black ceramic parts.

Tech Tips

The pre-crash safety city sensor recognizes the white lines in relation to the vehicle on the basis of coordinates derived from the traveling direction of the vehicle. These coordinates differ for each vehicle depending on the tolerance and installation position of the pre-crash safety city sensor to the vehicle. Therefore, pre-crash safety city sensor beam axis adjustment must be performed individually for each vehicle.


  1. RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY


    1. Before performing "BEAM AXIS LEARNING", store the recognition camera position information, target position information and vehicle information in the pre-crash safety city sensor.

      Tech Tips

      Perform adjustment using "ONE TIME RECOGNITION" or "SEQUENTIAL RECOGNITION".


  2. BEAM AXIS LEARNING


    1. After storing the "RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY", further calibrate the stored data.

      Tech Tips


      • Since there is an error in the internal data derived from the stored recognition camera position (horizontal and vertical coordinates, etc.), calibrating the internal data captured in the recognition camera improves the recognition sensitivity of the recognition camera.

      • Perform adjustment using "ONE TIME RECOGNITION" or "SEQUENTIAL RECOGNITION".
