  1. LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


    1. When driving on roads with white (or yellow) lines, when the system determines that the vehicle may deviate from the current driving lane, it informs the driver of the potential deviation with a buzzer and a display on the combination meter assembly.

    2. The system is equipped with a last memory function, which stores the switch condition when the engine stops and allows the system to begin in that condition when the engine is started again.

  2. FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Pre-crash Safety City Sensor

    • Acquires information about the road ahead from a monocular camera and controls the lane departure alert system.

    • Sends signals to illuminate the LDA indicator and sound the meter buzzer based on lane departure alert system control information.

    • Determines the condition of the lane departure alert switch.
    Lane Departure Alert Switch Stops and starts the lane departure alert system.
    Combination Meter Assembly

    • Displays the control condition (ON/OFF) and warning sensitivity of the lane departure alert system.

    • During a system malfunction, warns the driver by displaying a message in the multi-information display according to the nature of the problem in the system, illuminating the master warning light and sounding the meter buzzer.*1

    • During a system malfunction, warns the driver by illuminating the LDA indicator, illuminating the master warning light and sounding the meter buzzer.*2

    • Sends the meter tolerance values and turn signal condition to the pre-crash safety city sensor.
    Brake Booster with Master Assembly (Skid Control ECU Assembly) Sends the wheel speed signals to the pre-crash safety city sensor.
    Spiral Cable Sub-assembly (Steering Angle Sensor) Detects the steering angle and steering direction.
    Airbag Sensor Assembly (Yaw Rate Sensor) Sends yaw rate sensor signals to the pre-crash safety city sensor.

    1. Lane departure alert system start-up conditions


      1. The lane departure alert system operates when the following conditions are met.

        System Start-up Conditions
        Lane departure alert switch ON
        Vehicle speed within operating range for lane departure alert system
        Lane recognized
        Turn signals not being operated
        No system malfunctions detected

    2. Lane departure alert system operation conditions


      1. The lane departure alert system operates while the vehicle is in the following conditions.

        Operating speed Approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more
        Operating lane width Approximately 3.0 m (9.84 ft.) or more
        Operating radius On a straight road or slight curve (with a radius of approximately 150 m (492 ft.) or more)

    3. Temporary function cancellation during lane departure alert system operation


      1. The lane departure alert system is temporarily canceled when the following conditions (cancellation conditions) are detected.

      2. The lane departure alert system restarts when the following conditions (recovery conditions) are met.

    4. Lane departure alert system stop/restart


      1. The lane departure alert system stops when the following conditions (stop conditions) are detected.
