PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the operation.


      1. Check that the float moves smoothly between the F level (upper end) and E level (lower end).

    2. Check the resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the connector.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition (Triangular float type) Specified Condition (Rounded float type)
        1 - 2 F (Upper End) 12.0 to 18.0 Ω 13.5 to 16.5 Ω
        1 - 2 Between F (Upper End) - E (Lower End) 12.0 to 415.0 Ω (Gradually Change) 13.5 to 414.5 Ω (Gradually Change)
        1 - 2 E (Lower End) 405.0 to 415.0 Ω 405.5 to 414.5 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.
