CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE TAPER SCREW PLUG


    1. A01UY8V

      Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the taper screw plug and gasket.

      Tech Tips

      If water leaks from the taper screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

  2. REMOVE OIL CONTROL VALVE FILTER


    1. A01UZ2M

      Using an 8 mm hexagon wrench, remove the straight screw plug.

      Tech Tips

      If water leaks from the straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

    2. Remove the oil control valve filter and gasket.

  3. REMOVE VALVE LIFTER


    1. A01V0DE

      Remove the 16 valve lifters.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the valve lifters in the correct order.

  4. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE


    1. A01UZXKE02

      Using SST and wooden blocks, remove the 16 retainer locks.

      SST
      09202-70020   ( 09202-00010, 09202-01010, 09202-01020 )

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

    2. Remove the 8 retainers, 8 compression springs and 8 intake valves.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  5. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE


    1. A01UXPAE01

      Using SST and wooden blocks, remove the 16 retainer locks.

      SST
      09202-70020   ( 09202-00010, 09202-01010, 09202-01020 )

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

    2. Remove the 8 retainers, 8 compression springs and 8 exhaust valves.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  6. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

      Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 16 valve stem oil seals.

  7. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT


    1. A01V0WI

      Using compressed air and a Magnet Hand, remove the 16 valve spring seats by blowing air onto them.
