Tech Tips

P3011-123 to P3019-123 and P3020-123 will not be store unless the vehicle is driven for approximately 10 minutes after clearing the DTCs.

CAUTION:

When disposing of an HV battery, make sure to return it through an authorized collection agent who is capable of handling it safely. If the HV battery is returned via the manufacturer specified route, it will be returned properly and in a safe manner by an authorized collection agent.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTCS (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read output DTCs Click here.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      P0AFC-123 is not output. A
      P0AFC-123 is also output. B

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

  2. CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT


    1. Ensure the safety of the areas in front and at the back of the vehicle.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).

    4. Fully warm up the engine and turn the air conditioning off.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Battery block Vol - V01 to V10.

    6. Firmly depress the brake pedal with your left foot.

    7. Move the select lever to D.

    8. Record each battery block voltage from the data list (Battery block Vol -V01 to V10) while fully depressing the accelerator pedal.

    9. Compare the battery block voltages (Battery block Vol -V01 to V10) between the even and odd number groups in each combination shown in the table below.

    10. Check the difference between each pair of battery block voltages.

      Tech Tips

      When an internal malfunction occurs in the battery smart unit, this symptom (difference in voltage of 0.3 V or more for all 5 pairs of blocks) will occur.

      *1 Example: When difference in voltage of all 5 pairs of blocks is 0.3 V or more
      *2 When voltage of odd number battery blocks is 0.3 V or more higher than that of even number battery blocks.
      *3 0.3 V or more
      *4 When voltage of odd number battery blocks is 0.3 V or more lower than that of even number battery blocks.

    11. Turn the ignition switch off.

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      P3015-123 is output. A
      P3015-123 is not output. B

      Tech Tips

      DTC P3015-123 may also stored if there is foreign matter, etc. adhering to the connecting part of the service grip.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.
