BATTERY SMART UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for Front Floor Cover Type A)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Disengage the 2 guides and claw and remove the front floor cover RH.

  3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (for Front Floor Cover Type A)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Disengage the 2 guides and claw and remove the front floor cover LH.

  4. REMOVE CENTER FRONT FLOOR COVER (for Front Floor Cover Type A)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the center front floor cover.

  5. REMOVE CENTER FRONT FLOOR COVER (for Front Floor Cover Type B)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Disengage the 4 guides and remove the center front floor cover.

  6. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for Front Floor Cover Type B)

      Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and claw and remove the front floor cover RH.

  7. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (for Front Floor Cover Type B)


    1. A01UXL3

      Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and claw and remove the front floor cover LH.

  8. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

  9. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

    Click here

  10. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LEG SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear seat cushion leg sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE HOOD STAY HOLDER

    Click here

  13. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL COVER

    Click here

  14. REMOVE INVERTER COVER

    Click here

  15. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE

    Click here

  16. INSTALL INVERTER COVER

    Click here

  17. INSTALL INVERTER TERMINAL COVER

    Click here

  18. INSTALL HOOD STAY HOLDER

    Click here

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY EXHAUST DUCT


    1. A01UZLE

      Remove the clip and No. 1 hybrid exhaust duct.

  20. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. A01UY4H

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the wire harness.

  21. REMOVE HYBRID BATTERY SERVICE PLUG COVER

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.

      Remove the 2 nuts and hybrid battery service plug cover.

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.

      Remove the bolt and electric vehicle battery plug as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01UXYO

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 1 hybrid battery shield sub-assembly.

  23. REMOVE NO. 2 HYBRID VEHICLE BATTERY CARRIER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.


    1. A01UYRY

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

    3. A01UXRF

      Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the No. 2 hybrid vehicle battery carrier bracket sub-assembly.

  24. REMOVE BATTERY SMART UNIT (BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR)

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.


    1. A01V05L

      Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      Insulate the removed terminals with insulating tape.

    2. Remove the bolt and battery smart unit.
