STOP LIGHT SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LED Type Stop Light)

      (to Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch assembly.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A22-7 (B) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      A22-6 (B) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V

      If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light switch assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A22-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      (Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      Reconnect the connector to the stop light switch assembly.

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A22-1 (OUT) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch off, brake pedal not depressed Below 1 V
      A22-1 (OUT) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch off, brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      A22-3 (L) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch off, brake pedal not depressed Below 1 V
      A22-3 (L) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch off, brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      A22-5 (L) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch ON (IG), brake pedal not depressed 11 to 14 V
      A22-5 (L) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch ON (IG), brake pedal depressed Below 1 V
      A22-4 (ACC) - A22-2 (GND) Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

      If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light switch assembly.
